What's up with this dude?! Well, he is the f*ckin' boss of oil paints and landscape art. The founder and creative director here at Alite gains daily inspiration from this guy, and may or may not have been good ol' Bob Ross for Halloween. He is a legend around these parts, and his joy of painting induces our joy of the outdoors. THE JOY OF PAINTING was his notorious PBS television program here in the US, Canada, and Europe, and it took landscape art to another level. His wisdom, his encouraging words, his impeccable techniques … he will forever RIP.
"Robert Norman "Bob" Ross (October 29, 1942 – July 4, 1995) was an American painter, art instructor, and television host. He was best known as the creator and host of The Joy of Painting, a television program that aired on PBS in the United States, Canada, and Europe.During each half-hour segment, Ross would instruct viewers in oil painting using a quick-study technique that used a limited palette of paints in each work and broke down the process into simple steps. Art critic Mira Schor compared him to Fred Rogers, another PBS television host, noting that the softness of Ross's voice and the slow pace of his speech were similar".
Happy tree here, happy tree there … this dude has an eye for the outdoors, and we never get sick of watching him in action! And now it's time to clean the brush ...
