The Presidio - Andy Goldsworthy Spire

The Presidio - Andy Goldsworthy Spire This is the ultimate SF park area to get inspired and educated. The Spire by Andy Goldsworthy is a 100 foot outdoor art installation composed of aging Monterey cypress trees. This sculpture is a must see while venturing in the Presidio. It pays tribute to the lifecycle of historic cypress trees and their beauty as they change with time. The trees in GG Park were originally planted by the Army in the 1880s and continue to be reforested to this day. We love it here and we know you will too.

Located on the Bay Area Ridge Trail in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco, it's easily accessible via public transportation, bike, or foot. It can be found (and clearly seen) right past the Arguello Gate and to the west of Inspiration Point.
